If a risk of ground gas is presented in the initial desk study, monitoring pipes may be installed within boreholes for future gas monitoring. Gas monitoring is undertaken to determine levels of methane, carbon dioxide and oxygen along with the gas flow, which fluctuates with the barometric pressure at the time of each visit. Data is then collated and supplied to the client after a sufficient amount of visits and readings have been carried out.
